We Proudly Stand with the People of Ukraine
As the war in Ukraine continues to rage on, children have become the most vulnerable population. Over 700,000 children have been affected by the conflict and are in dire need of aid and assistance. Many children have been separated from their families and have lost their homes, while others have been forced to flee to safety.
Huttonian Designs is run by the Hutton family. We have a young son of our own, as well as several close friends who have, or still do, lived in Ukraine. We were lucky enough to be able to visit some of those friends in Ukraine before the fighting intensified. We watched with horror seeing the devastation that’s been caused to the country and the loss of lives, homes, and communities, and desperately awaited news as various areas were attacked.
We continue to carry the utmost hope that Ukrainian children, who have been forced by war to grow up far too quickly, can regain a bit of the childhood wonder and joy that we see in our own son. This isn’t possible, however, when their basic needs remain unmet. Homes, schools, hospitals, and shelters have been targets for violence and destruction. Civilian infrastructure, like power plants that provide heat and electricity, are being deliberately destroyed. These children in the midst of war experience violence, fear, and loss all around them. We choose to donate to UNICEF specifically because they work directly with children, but also because they help the impacted communities as a whole.
At Huttonian Designs, we believe in making the world a better place, whenever we can. This is why choose to donate a portion of all sales to UNICEF-Ukraine. UNICEF is working to provide critical aid and support to children affected by the conflict, including access to clean water, food, shelter, education, and protection. Through our donations to UNICEF-Ukraine, we are able to directly impact the lives of children in need.
